About Us
Nestled in the charming village of Whelpley Hill, our historic Village Hall was
built and completed in May 1937 and opened by Lord Chesham on the 14th
June 1937 to commemorate the Coronation of King George VI.
A committee of local residents led by Major Alexander Wood who lived in
Spencers Farm, Whelpley Hill, raised the money to have the hall built by holding
local events and organising grants.
The Coronation Hall is a registered Charity, run and maintained by a committee
of local volunteers for the upkeep of the hall.
Our Hall
Our hall boasts a spacious main hall with a beautiful sprung wooden floor, perfect for dancing the night away or exercise classes.
It can accommodate up to 80 guests seated or 100 standing, making it ideal for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations.
Our hall is equipped with wheel chair access, a small stage area, french doors to the grounds and a new heating system, all the amenities you need to make your event a success.
Our Kitchen
Well-maintained large spacious available all included in the hiring price:
- Ample Cutlery, Crockery & Glasses
- Teapots/coffee pots/ cups
- Tea urns and electric kettle
- Dishwasher
- 2 Electric ovens and Induction Hob
- Cooking equipment including pans
- Large fridges
- Plenty of worktop space
Other Facilities
We have 32 tables, 80 chairs and 2 high chairs available to set up for your events.
We have a disabled access ramp for the front door, with a disabled toilet located just inside. Our other clean toilet facilities are located at the back of the hall.
We also have a baby changing facility located in the disabled toilet.
Parking & The Grounds
There is ample parking available both sides of the hall, plus disabled parking.
We have a large grassed area which is contained and gated.

Coffee Mornings
All are welcome to attend the Coffee Mornings held 10am-12.30pm on the Last Friday of every month.
Enjoy tea, cake and coffee with friends, games and a childrens activity area available too.
Whelpley Hill Summer Party
Come along and enjoy our Summer Party!
Saturday 17th August - 2pm til Late.
With Live Music, BBQ and Beer Tents, Plus lots of Games and Activities fun for all the family!!

Tafs Turbos Flyball Team
Tafs Turbos flyball team are a group of cheerfull,friendly people who get together every other Sunday to practise their skills with their dogs.
We have now competed at many flyball competitions & have achieved great success and now run 4 teams but always keen to take on new members. All new comers welcome.

Hall Hire FAQs
How much does it cost to Hire the hall?
Residents or regular hires = £15 per hour.
Non Residents or one off hires = £20 per hour.
*Please note Deposits of £250 must be secured upon booking.
*Saturday nights are a flat rate of £150 from 6pm to midnight.
Is there Parking Available at the Hall?
Yes there are parking for an ample number of cars, plus disabled parking on site.
There also additional parking on the other side of the hall.
Can I sell Alcohol?
If the hirer wishes to sell alcohol, you will require a license, which you will need to organise yourselves. A copy must be sent along with the booking form.
